This place has been the talk of the town for months — and for good reason. They’re known for their amazing bakery and delicious food that keeps people coming back again and again. If you haven’t heard of them yet, let us introduce you to San Martín Bakery & Restaurant.
Located in both Uptown and Addison, San Martín brings a taste of Guatemala right here to Texas. Founded in Guatemala in 1974 by Andrés Castillo, this family-owned spot has become a staple for fresh-baked breads, pastries, and flavorful meals made with care. From croissants and soups to salads and brunch favorites, San Martín truly has something for everyone.
The Bakery
Let’s start with what made them famous — their baked goods. San Martín’s bakery is always buzzing with creativity, constantly adding new treats and breads to their menu. You can smell the fresh-baked bread the moment you walk in, and it’s impossible not to grab something from the display case before you leave.
Their selection includes both traditional and specialty breads, as well as sweet pastries and cookies that locals swear by. There are more than ten cookies to choose from, but our favorites are the mocha snaps, Swiss cookies, and chocolate-dipped palmiers.
If you’re more of a bread lover, you can’t go wrong with the pan de queso, pan dulce, pan francés, or the Guatemalan quesadilla (a soft, slightly sweet cheese bread that pairs perfectly with coffee). And if you’re stocking up for home, they also sell packaged loaves like sourdough and walnut raisin bread — perfect for toasting in the morning.
For those with a sweet tooth, their croissant roll, almond croissant, strawberry Danish, and chicken vol-au-vent are must-tries. Each pastry is flaky, buttery, and freshly baked daily. Prices for bakery items range from $2.25 to $8.99, making it easy to treat yourself without breaking the bank.

The Food
Now let’s talk about the food — because as much as people love the bakery, San Martín’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu has become just as popular.
If you’re stopping by for breakfast, we recommend the Traditional Sampler. It’s the perfect way to get a little taste of everything — a cheese pupusa, mini tostadas, and cheese chorizo tortillas all on one plate. It’s hearty, flavorful, and a great introduction to some Central American favorites.
If you prefer something sweet to start your morning, try the Berry Bliss French Toast. Made with three slices of pan de muerto French toast, it’s topped with blackberry jam, whipped cream, strawberries, blackberries, and powdered sugar. It’s just the right amount of indulgent — sweet, fruity, and filling. The French toast goes for $13.45, while the sampler comes in at $17.95 — both generous portions and totally worth it.
For lunch or dinner, San Martín’s menu doesn’t disappoint. They offer everything from soups and salads to sandwiches and pasta, all made fresh and full of flavor. One standout sandwich is the Pan con Cochinita Pibil — layers of refried beans, crunchy cheese crust, tomatoes, red onion, and avocado, topped with cream, mayonnaise, and mustard, all served on their freshly baked baguette. It’s the kind of sandwich that’s messy in the best way possible and packed with flavor from the first bite to the last. Sandwiches range from $8.95 to $13.95, depending on your choice.
If pasta is more your thing, go for the Mozzarella Ravioli. Stuffed with mozzarella cheese and basil, then tossed in a rich pomodoro sauce, it’s simple yet incredibly satisfying. The pasta dishes range from $15.95 to $17.95, and each one tastes homemade and comforting.
Why You Should Go
If you’re still on the fence about visiting, let us save you the trouble — it’s absolutely worth it. San Martín Bakery isn’t just another brunch spot; it’s a full dining experience that combines the warmth of Guatemalan hospitality with the freshness and creativity of a European-style bakery.
On top of their food and pastries, they also serve a great selection of coffee drinks and beverages, making it the perfect place for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon coffee date.
Whether you’re looking for a quick pastry and latte to start your day, a cozy brunch with friends, or a relaxed dinner with family, San Martín hits the mark every time. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, the prices are fair, and the flavors speak for themselves.
So, next time you’re in Uptown or Addison, make sure to add San Martín Bakery to your Dallas dining list. From the first sip of coffee to the last bite of dessert, it’s a meal (and experience) you won’t regret.
